Robotics

What is Shapes?

Shapes is an educational robotic system for enhancing the study of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). The Shapes' robotic system simplifies the study of math and science using gamification: robot games and missions demonstrate to students math and physics principles, while encouraging creativity and problem solving. Shapes advantages:
  • Demonstrate STEM principles
  • Turnkey solution: robot kits, software, curricula, guide books and teacher training
  • Interactive and simulative programming mode for programming the robot intuitively.
  • Open system: Arduino based, software and hardware modules may be added

Driver installation - I have a problem with the robot drivers, is there a standalone driver installation program?

Yes, install the drivers from here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM%20v2.12.00%20WHQL%20Certified.exe

I did the above and the upload still fails - what can I do?

Check the following registry settings:
On Windows 7: Control Panel => Users => Change User Account Control Settings => Never Notify (take the slider to the bottom)

Which sensors are included in your robotic kits?

Different sensors are used in different kits. We have light sensors (used both for line tracing and for sensing infrared traffic light) - analog and digital versions, infrared/object sensors, touch sensors, traffic light sensors, temperature sensors, flame sensors and leds.
